5k run/walk and 10k run around the Path for Peace in Cesar Chavez Park, Berkeley Marina shoreline. Start time 9:00am; check-in and late registration 8-8:45am.

Begin now to form a team to support peace. Families invited to stroll or run. Many fabulous individual and team awards. Funds raised by Pledges for Peace will benefit educational programs of UNA East Bay and millions of people fed by UN's World Food Program. Co-sponsored by the City of Berkeley and many others.

I was fortunate to start interning for the United Nations Association during the Spring of 2009, where I served as an intern for both the Publications Committee and the Youth Leadership Council. Through this, we were allowed to set the framework for the UNA Club, and expand the impact of the UN and the UNA on the UC Berkeley Campus.

The goal and efforts of the United Nations have always been especially intriguing and inspiring for me, so I was extremely excited to be part of an organization that promotes its work. We can all agree that the promotion of the United Nations amongst youth, and the problems it is working to combat, is an extremely necessary and integral part of building a generation of global citizens. Being involved with the UNA is truly an exceptionally rewarding experience and it has been an honor and pleasure to work with such distinguished and welcoming individuals.
