Climate change and warming are among our planet's most urgent issues. Massive population displacement is already causing disastrous consequences--resulting in homeless/landless millions and cross-border tensions. The US Dept of Defense assesses climate refugees as a serious security threat. Can it be halted or prevented? What is to be done about survival and a home for victims?

Kate O'Neill, Ph.D. (moderator and responder) is Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management at UC Berkeley where she’s taught since 1999. She’s widely published on global environmental policies and governance.
